Good morning!
Welcome to Issue 53.3 of Digestable, your thrice-weekly mouthful of real things happening in the world, minus alarmist pandemic news.
Today’s news, fermented:

DJ M0RO’s low-key Music Show
Well the windows are starting to stay open and the first lilac buds are emerging here, so it’s time for a summer mixtape essential. Reyna Tropical has given us a single that pairs so well with emerging from everything closed. Collaborating on the tune is Y La Bamba’s Luz Elena Mendoza (coincidentally featured here last week - I guess I like them or something). Listen to the song Encerrada, preferably with some fresh air and sunshine.
**featured pod** this week is one of the best interviews I’ve heard lately, a conversation that felt like poetry with writer and activist and artist Chanel Miller on Design Matters. If you’ve been following the author of Know My Name, be prepared to hear her story in a whole new light. [content warning: sexual assault]
*Hot Goss*
Brought to you by the superb Latifah Azlan.
I was going to objectify some hot men for today's column but when the news alert on my phone literally woke me up with the biggest news I'll read today, I knew I had to change the topic. And what better way to talk about Prince Philip's death than to present my commentary through screenshots of the first conversation I had this morning?
Prince Philip was 99 years old when he passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle. That's an extremely long time to have lived and he would have turned 100 years old in June! However, he had been unwell for some time and was in and out of hospital earlier this year. I'm sure the royal family will be mourning the loss of their patriarch. On a very human level, it is always sad to hear of a loved one pass away. And that's about all I have to offer today! So I'll see you all again on Monday :)
