Good morning!
This is Issue 64.3 of Digestable, your thrice-weekly mouthful of things happening in the world.
Today’s news, fermented:
There’s always so much news; sometimes it feels/looks like a million disparate topics, and other times, it seems like headlines were designed to talk to each other.
Here are a few pairings:
‘Less water means more gas’ (hydropower and fossil fuels in California); The water is coming’ (sea level rise in Florida)
Miami condo collapse (a tragic building failure); The Fight Against Homelessness in California is Just Beginning (a tragic failure of building)
There’s little cause for hope in Israel’s new government (the consistently-empty promises of a settler regime); It’s Time to Mobilize for Voting Rights (challenging the consistently-empty promises of an unsettled regime)
And then there’s this piece of good news: Massive corporations have wielded extraordinary power over our economy for the past 40 years. That’s about to end. Why? Because there’s a new sheriff in town. More here.
Here’s a sweet friend going for a dip.
~Caro’s Tarot~
Good morning digestable readers! It’s been a minute since we’ve chatted, I hope y’all have been taking care spiritually, mentally, and physically these past couple of weeks. Today I come to you with a very exciting reading because...last night was a full moon! Y’all, I feel a special connection with this celestial body, and who doesn’t!? We are 70% water after all, and if the moon can affect tides, why not humans too? I find full moon readings to be really cathartic. It is usually a good time to release energies that are no longer serving you, and invite those that will help you continue on the journey to connect with your higher self. Full moons are GREAT for intention setting.
So what does this all mean for our reading today? Well I picked out an extra special card for us last night. And it’s extra special because not only was it pulled during the Strawberry Full Moon, but we pulled it as we celebrate the start of the summer solstice as well. Personally, this is my favorite time of year. I love the excitement of summer, the energy, the rush of endorphins you get when the sun touches your skin...I am truly a child of the summer.
Ok readers, let’s get to this reading then! We are using a new tarot deck this week, which is super exciting, because I have loved these cards so far. OK so last night I asked the cards, “what should we collectively welcome in/be aware of this full moon”.
Drumroll please……...The Sun!!!
Y’all...what a weirdly perfect card? Told y’all these full moon energies are strong. Let’s explore what The Sun is telling us…According to Lisa Sterle (author of the interpretations in this new deck), the Sun tells us, “With sunshine comes new life. An innocent child full of carefree joy and happiness, waves a red banner high in the sky. Behind her, a grey wall is her past, and the flowers of memories bloom and thrive in The Sun. There is wonder and warmth everywhere. The Sun has turned the day into a promising playground ready for exploration. It’s a time to feel totally alive. Winter is over. The world is lush and full of excitement and beauty. Bask in the sunlight, embrace life! You might have just stumbled upon a big discovery or revelation that’s astonishing, amazing and helps you see things in a new and beautiful way. This new perspective is the result of your hard inner and outer work and it’s time for the reward. So treat yourself! Do something fun, have an adventure, the days are yours to
fill with childlike wonder and optimism.”
Wow y’all...what a WONDERFUL card to receive from the universe, during the summer solstice too! I hope this encourages some of y’all to get out there and explore this childlike wonder that is within us. Go outside, go to the park, leave the city for a bit, and bask in that lovely and warm summer sun. Till next week y’all, have a blessed, fun, and safe weekend!
DJ toMoR0’s low-key Music Show
We are officially post-Solstice, and I’m savoring the sunlit days that go on forever. But the truth is the darkness will set in eventually - and I’m planning on calling myself into presence, enjoying each ray of shine.
So with a hint of irony I leave you with this 47 minute dance sesh titled Shortest Day Love Songs, from fellow DJ Intellectual_Labor. I had a drive of the same length today, and this was the ultimate driving-to-the-farm truck setlist. It will surely make a recurring appearance on the rotation of beach tunes, porch hangs, and mornings in the garden.
Just a short lil music break this week, back with more summer releases next week, as well as a long-overdue *featured pod*!

Reader, I'm slightly exhausted today.
I've been in the throes of packing up and/or purging the life I've built in this city for the last several many years due to a big move coming up in roughly 2 weeks. The packing isn't even the most tiring part, it's having to force myself to part with things I've accumulated over the years that are sentimental to me for whatever reason. I'm just such an emotional babe so the whole thing has been quite the process. I've made good progress though but that means I won't be going over Britney Spears' testimony to court regarding her conservatorship that happened a few days ago. That requires dedicated time to do right by, because there is so much to unpack (lol). Instead, here's the trailer for Netflix's latest reality dating show, Sexy Beasts, which is probably one of the most deranged concepts that somebody actually poured money into and brought to life that I've ever seen in my entire life.
If you scrolled past without watching the trailer, do yourself a favor and watch it. I promise you it's worth it, especially on a Friday morning. As the resident mega-fan of The Masked Singer, I already know that I'll be watching this mess for the lulz. Again, that trailer alone makes me feel like I'm in a fever dream. I can't wait!
