Good morning!
Welcome to Issue 60.3 of Digestable, your thrice-weekly mouthful of real things happening in the world, minus alarmist pandemic news.
Today’s news, fermented:
I’ve been off work this week, and trying to give myself a break from the news. It is hard! I am still merely a human under capitalism, which also means every ‘break’ comes with the guilt of not working, even though rest is imperative.
These diagrams really get at a lot of what I (and I think others!) have been feeling about the combination burnout/reopening in the US/continued pandemic and crises all over the world.
What I’ll leave you with today is, of course, an article about another horrible element of the Bill Gates empire: Bill and Melinda Gates’ Empire of Dirt.
Here’s a photo from my own empire of dirt—jk, we don’t believe in empire over here. This is my tiny field of wheat (20 square feet, thereabouts), which I decided to grow in a bout of bread-baking enthusiasm and apocalypse angst. (And yes, that is a torn up pie tin to keep the sparrows at bay.)

Good morning and blessings Digestable readers! We are dealing with a power outage at our apartment, sparked (quite literally) by yours truly….so this morning I just leave you with our card for the weekend!
...Knight of Swords!....Jericho Mandybur interprets this card as follows…
“Representing a person or energy that’s headstrong and idealistic, this card signals swift action in the arena of the mind. Sometimes on our quests for meaning, we find we are stronger than we thought; our insights are more profound, our words sharper, our nerves more steely, because we’re amped up in the name of something worth defending or championing. This is one of those times. Keep going, stay nimble and stay in your lane if you can.”
Y’all this one speaks for itself!! Happy weekend!
