Good morning!

Welcome to Issue 34.2 of Digestable, your daily mouthful of real things happening in the world, minus alarmist pandemic news.

I’m all ears for your feedback, or if you’re already a fan, share this email with your friends. If you’re not yet on the list, click below to sign up.

Today’s news, fermented:

Holy shit y’all, it’s that day.

The name of the game today is patience. Everyone is tense and ready for answers, which we almost certainly will not get today/tonight/tomorrow.

Here’s a list of places to look for results, interesting tidbits, races to watch, and things to put in front of your eyeballs.

  • 538 results coverage, which features some fun winding graphics and some reassuring state graphics and some words.

  • The Election Night Integrity Project from Data for Progress, with graphics, results (not yet!!), hexagons

  • Here’s a ‘fun’ list of candidates by state that are funded by the Koch brothers.

  • Hold the Line: a guide to defending democracy, a nice hefty read for this never-ending day

  • Election Season 101, also from Data for Progress - some basic stuff to keep in mind while you read the news today

  • Libertarian vs. Bear, or a nice distraction brought to you by bears outsmarting municipal budget-slashers

Ok, that’s it for today. Vote if you haven’t already, summon patience none of us have, be gentle to your people.

Don’t forget to find some space today.

Brought to you by the superb Latifah Azlan.

Let's be real, all of our minds are elsewhere right now. Today is the day that voting will conclude in the U.S. presidential elections and all of our anxiety is at 100. I had plans to wake up at the crack of dawn today and do yoga, but instead I laid in bed for an hour contemplating my existence. So in lieu of ~*Hot Goss*~, I am going to leave you with a video that is guaranteed to make you laugh. So if you find yourself doomscrolling throughout the day, don't forget to return to this gem every now and then.
